FIKP Completes the SPMI Quality Document to Improve The Quality of Academicand Non-Academic Services

In order to support the achievement of the vision and mission, the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Sciences, Hasanuddin University (FIKP Unhas) has implemented an Internal Quality Assurance System which is implemented by the Internal Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Unit. During its development, there are changes to the applicable regulations so that the SPMI documents need to be adjusted to these regulatory changes. Starting with creating or revising the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) policy document to adapt it to developments in applicable regulations, this will then be continued with the next step up to an assessment by a competent party.

The Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries is finalizing quality documents because of the demands of higher education so it needs to adapt to the latest higher education policies. FIKP quality documents consist of quality policies, quality standards, quality manuals and quality forms. This activity will be held on 24-26 November 2023 at the Harper Perintis Makassar Hotel. The activity was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University, Deputy Deans, Chair and Secretary of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Unit, Head of Administration and Heads of Subdivisions and the FIKP quality document finalization committee. The activity began with a speech from the Dean of FIKP. In his speech, he hoped that quality documents could be completed and implemented as needed in order to improve the quality of academic and non-academic services within the FIKP environment.

Next, the activity continues with the preparation of quality documents and quality procedures for each work unit, such as the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Unit which has the task of finalizing quality policies, education standards, research standards, community service standards, customer satisfaction quality procedures, management review meetings, and others. In the Academic and Student Affairs Sector, several quality procedure documents have been finalized, such as legalization of diplomas and transcripts, academic leave, evaluation of 4 semester and 10 semester study results, and others. In the Planning, Resources and Alumni Sector, finalize quality procedure documents such as maintenance of infrastructure and work environment, warehouse management, administration of state property, procurement of goods/services, and others. Meanwhile, in the Partnership, Research and Innovation Sector, we revise quality procedure documents such as visiting lecturers, joining international conferences, reputable international publications (citations), and others. Apart from that, the Head of Administration also participates in revising quality procedure documents such as document control, archive control, corrective and preventive actions, control of non-conforming products, e-office, and community service units. The revised quality document will be checked and signed by the Dean to then be implemented in academic and non-academic services. The finalization of the SPMI Quality Document is expected to become the basis for implementing quality assurance at FIKP Unhas so that SPMI documents can immediately be used as control documents for the implementation of higher education standards at FIKP Unhas.
