FIKP Holds A Meetings To Develop Quality Objectives To Improve Academic And Service Quality

The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries has taken proactive steps to improve the quality of higher education by setting ambitious but achievable quality goals. In a meeting attended by the Dean and Vice Deans, the Head and Secretary of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Unit, the Head of Administration and their respective Heads of Subdivisions (Academic and Student Affairs, Planning and Resources, and Partnership, Research, and Alumni), the Dean of FIKP emphasized their commitment to strengthening the quality of education and services. This activity was held on Friday, February 21, 2025. The activity began at 2:30 pm. The initial discussion at this meeting was about the achievement of the previous year’s quality objectives, constraints and success factors in achieving the quality of each sub-section within FIKP.

The quality objectives will serve as a guidance for all of us in pursuing excellence in education, research, and community service. The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries annually prepares quality objectives. Quality targets are quality targets to be achieved in an agency within a certain period of time. The preparation of quality objectives refers to the work contract of the Dean of FIKP with the Rector of Unhas in 2025.

The quality objectives that have been developed involve various aspects, ranging from improving the quality of teaching to increasing research productivity. One of the main focuses is to increase the level of satisfaction of the FIKP academic community and other stakeholders with the programs offered by the faculty. Recognizing the importance of measurement and evaluation of the achievement of quality objectives, the faculty also plans the implementation of a careful monitoring system. The goals that have been set will be regularly reviewed for progress every time.

Working units within the faculty are committed to working together to achieve these goals in an energized atmosphere. The best lecturers have affirmed their readiness to make their best contributions, while administrative staff pledge to support this process by providing the necessary infrastructure and services. The students are also not spared their role in the achievement of these quality objectives. The faculty plans to involve them in the evaluation and improvement process, thus ensuring that the programs offered match their needs and expectations. With the commitment and cooperation of all parties and with the concrete steps taken, the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries is optimistic about achieving higher and sustainable educational quality in the future.
