Audit Mutu Internal ISO 9001 & ISO 21001: Komitmen Meningkatkan Mutu Tata Kelola dan Layanan Pendidikan

Makassar, June 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries at Hasanuddin University conducted an Internal Quality Audit (IQA) as part of its international standard quality management system compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 21001. The activity took place on June 18, 2025, in Seminar Room A of the Marine Sciences Department.

The Internal Quality Audit is a systematic process to evaluate the compliance of activities with the ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 21001 (education organization management system) quality standards. The audit covers aspects of governance, learning processes, student services, and administrative services.

The audit was conducted by the University of Hasanuddin’s Internal Audit Team, who are certified auditors (Dr. Arsyad Genda, M.Si, and Mahfuddin Yusbud, SKM., MKM), and involved unit heads at the faculty level as auditees. Deans, Deputy Deans, Head and Secretaries of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Enhancement Committee, Head and Secretaries of Department, Program Directors, and heads of sub-units attended the opening and closing sessions of the audit.

This audit aims to ensure that the quality management system and education management system are running in accordance with international standards, as well as to prepare for external evaluation by the certification agency. In addition, the audit results will serve as the basis for improving academic processes and services to support the vision of the faculty and Unhas as an institution that promotes the theme of the maritime continent.

The audit was conducted using desk evaluation methods, direct interviews, and document and evidence reviews. The audit team assessed the compliance of quality documents, the implementation of work programs, and the effectiveness of corrective actions taken. Every finding, whether observations, nonconformities, or opportunities for improvement, was discussed openly for continuous improvement.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, Prof. Safruddin, S.Pi., MP. Ph.D., emphasized the importance of audits as a quality control instrument. “Quality audits are not about finding mistakes, but rather a reflective effort to maintain and improve educational service standards,” he said. The audit closure was marked by the presentation of preliminary results by the audit team leader, who commended the commitment of the faculty leadership and staff in maintaining service quality. “In this audit, FIKP had no findings,” said auditor Arsyad Genda.
