*Makassar, August 6, 2026* – The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries (FIKP), Universitas Hasanuddin, welcomed a benchmarking delegation from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Pattimura, on *August 5–6, 2026*. The visit was organized to strengthen institutional collaboration and facilitate the exchange of best practices in academic governance, quality assurance, and higher education management.
The benchmarking program commenced with a welcoming session attended by the leadership of FIKP Universitas Hasanuddin, including faculty executives, heads of departments, heads of study programs, representatives of the Quality Assurance Unit, and administrative staff. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to engage in constructive discussions and share experiences in enhancing academic quality and institutional performance.
A key focus of the benchmarking visit was the implementation of the *Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS)* at FIKP Universitas Hasanuddin. The discussions covered the implementation of the *Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA)* quality cycle, internal quality audits, continuous quality improvement mechanisms, and strategies for fostering a sustainable quality culture across academic and administrative units.
The delegation also received a comprehensive presentation on FIKP Universitas Hasanuddin’s experience in obtaining and maintaining *ASIIN international accreditation*. The session highlighted the accreditation process, including self-evaluation report preparation, quality documentation, site visit arrangements, and institutional strategies for meeting international quality standards. Participants actively exchanged insights and experiences regarding challenges and best practices in pursuing international accreditation.
On the second day, the delegation visited several teaching and research laboratories within the faculty. During the laboratory tour, participants observed laboratory management practices, research facilities, equipment utilization, safety procedures, and the laboratories’ contributions to education, research, and community engagement.
The benchmarking program also included discussions on *learning support systems* implemented at FIKP Universitas Hasanuddin. These covered digital learning platforms, academic information systems, classroom facilities, student support services, and other infrastructure designed to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve students’ learning experiences.
Through this benchmarking visit, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and promoting collaboration in education, research, community engagement, and institutional development. The exchange of knowledge and best practices is expected to contribute to continuous quality improvement and enhance the global competitiveness of both faculties.
