Makassar, June 07, 2024 – The Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University (FIKP Unhas) held an Integrated Management System socialization today. The event was attended by lecturers, administrative staff, and students, aiming to introduce and implement a more efficient and integrated management system within the faculty.
The Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faizal, ST., M.Si, in his speech conveyed the importance of an integrated management system to improve the quality of academic and administrative services at FIKP. “With an integrated management system, it is expected to create better synergy between various units within FIKP, so that the teaching and learning process and administration can run more effectively and efficiently,” he said.
The Head of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Unit (GPMPR), Dr. Nursinah Amir, S.Pi., M.P. also conducting as the moderator, revealed that the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries is ready to fully support the implementation of this system. “We are very enthusiastic about the implementation of this integrated management system. We believe that with this system, our faculty can improve performance and services to the entire academic community,” she said.
Furthermore, the moderator gave the opportunity to the speaker, Prof. Jefry Kusuma, to deliver the material. Prof. Kusuma, the Deputy Coordinator of ISO UNHAS, gave a very clear and easy to understand explanation. Some of the points explained include the four ISOs that are now integrated such as ISO 21001: 2018, ISO 27001: 2016, ISO 37001, and ISO 45001: 2018.
The socialization included an explanation of the various modules in the integrated management system, including academic, financial, human resources, and facilities management. The system is designed to facilitate access to information, speed up administrative processes, and increase transparency and accountability within the faculty.
During the socialization event, the participants received direct explanation from the SMT FIKP Unhas team on how to use and the benefits of the integrated management system. Some of the excellent features introduced include an academic information system that is integrated with the library, realtime financial management, and a monitoring and evaluation system for lecturer and student performance.
The socialization event ended with an interactive Q&A session between the participants and the organizing team, which discussed various technical and operational aspects of the integrated management system. The participants showed high enthusiasm and hoped that the implementation of this system could be realized soon.
With this socialization, FIKP Unhas shows its commitment to continue to innovate in improving the quality of education and academic services in order to realize Unhas to become a World Class University (WCU).
