SDG14 Life Below Water Data Collection at FIKP UNHAS

Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries (FIKP) was actively participating in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the 14th goal which focuses on “Life Below Water”. In this series of activities, FIKP filled in data related to the condition of marine ecosystems and sustainable use of marine resources. SDG14 data filling was carried out on October 08, 2024 at the FIKP Unhas Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Cluster Room. This activity was attended by the Chairperson (Dr. Nursinah Amir, S.Pi., MP.) and Secretary of GPMPR (Dr. Yayu Anugrah La nafie, S.T., M.Sc.), Jamaluddin Fitrah Alam, S.Pi., M.Si., Ph.D., Kasri, S.Pi., M.Si., and Mufti Hatur Rahmi, S.STr., M.Si.

The SDG14 data entry covers various aspects including the quality of coastal ecosystems, populations of threatened marine species, and sustainable fisheries activities. This data collection is done collaboratively by involving students, lecturers, and researchers from various study programs. This activity basically emphasizes the importance of the contribution of academics in SDG14 reporting within Hasanuddin University. The role of educational institutions in providing precise and comprehensive data is crucial to support sustainable marine policies. With this activity, FIKP Universitas Hasanuddin hopes to have a positive impact on the preservation of marine ecosystems and encourage government policies that are more concerned with the sustainability of marine resources.
